In order to maintain the historical continuity of the Republic of Vietnam political system, a non-Communist government must be formed before the normalization of diplomatic relations between the United States and Vietnam. The National People’s Conference II solemnly declared the Provisional Government of Free Vietnam at Anaheim Convention Center, California. Before the sacred spirit of Vietnam, General Nguyen Khanh was sworn into office as Chief of State of the Government of Free Vietnam.

After being released, Mr. Nguyen Huu Chanh and Gen. - Head of State Nguyen Khanh had a hearing at the United Nations at the invitation of the Secretary General Ban Ki Moon (former South Korean Secretary of State), who received the extradition request of Mr. Nguyen Huu Chanh from Vietnamese Communist authorities on June 4, 2006.

Vietnamese National Party was presented in Little Saigon, the capital of Vietnamese refugees in Southern California. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher officially voiced his support and wished the Vietnamese National Party would be present in Vietnam to promote pluralism and free elections.

January 19, 2003, Charter and the Cabinet of the Provisional Government-In-Exile of Free Vietnam were presented at UC Irvine, Southern California. This is an unprecedented political gathering ever since 04/30/1975.

2006

Detained in

Seoul, Korea

President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tran Duc Luong, sent a diplomatic note to South Korean President, demanding immediate extradition of Mr. NHC. After 4 months behind the bars, the Supreme Court of South Korea released and declared that Mr. NHC was a human rights activist, not a terrorist as Ha Noi administration had slandered.

2014

Established the Alliance

of the Vietnamese People

In 2014, the Alliance of Vietnamese People was formed, a united team consisting of Vietnamese patriots who stand together to defend the territorial integrity of the motherland, repel the invaders and transform the dictatorial Communist regime to a pluralistic and democratic government.

Tieng Dan weekly newspaper was published continuously, officially and semiofficially. It was the official mouthpiece of the Government of Free Vietnam, comprised of the intelligentsia and activists who have been struggling for Freedom and Human Rights in Vietnam.
